Nina Ansary



Nina Ansary is President of The Ansary Foundation, a Houston-based private institution dedicated to the cause of education, healthcare, childcare, and other philanthropic endeavors. As president, she oversees the participation and support that the Ansary family provides to many institutions and causes around the country and elsewhere in the world. The Ansary Center for Stem Cell Therapeutics at The Weill Cornell Medical College, The Ansary Gallery of American History at The George Bush Presidential Library, The Ansary Atrium at The Texas Hear Institute, Fellowships at Texas A & M University, funding for technical education in Singapore, medical facility in Tanzania, educational projects at Harvard, Rice, and Rockefeller Universities and the founding of the world's smallest university on the island of St. Maarten are among noteworthy undertakings by The Ansary Foundation.

Nina was born in Tehran, Iran. Her family migrated to the U.S. when she was twelve years old. She received her B.A. in sociology from Barnard College in 1989, and her M.A. in Middle East and Asian Languages and Culture from Colombia University in 1991.

Nina also serves on the Board of Stewart & Stevenson LLC, a leading designer, manufacturer and global marketer of equipment and services primarily to the oil and gas industry, as well as the marine, mining, construction, and power generation industries.

Nina is also a director of SunResorts Ltd. NV, a Caribbean based leisure and vacation enterprise. Nina is a trustee of The Boys and Girls Clubs of America as well as The Everychild Foundation. She serves on the Board of Directors of IAPAC, a bi-partisan Iranian American political action group as well as Columbia University Middle East Advisory Board.
